I am so happy to give away another FREE texture today and offer others to take my challenge. Eight weeks flew by in the blink of an eye! Today I’m sharing a simple photo I took of the back of a regular iron bar stool. I knew the braided design would work as a layer or overlay in time. Sue Henry took this weeks challenge (I sent her over the texture I was planning on using a little early) and she created this work of art with it. I just love it! I really thought she did an “H” for “Heather”, but she said it was for “Henry”. Shoot, I can still believe it is intended to be for “Heather” right? Well, I’m going to! :) Getting back to Sue’s creation. Not only did she use the texture as an overlay to add a colored background to a simple black letter “H” photograph taken of a tombstone…but she also layered a pretty flower in the bottom corner from another one of her own photographs. That flower completes the pretty and artsy photo…don’t you think? I do! Thanks Sue! Ironic because I myself used the braided texture to add a background to my sample. Great minds think alike-I guess!
Now…for my sample. It’s from one of the photos of Lucy in my post yesterday. The differences are I converted it to black and white and added the braided texture as a background and then placed another texture I found free on Flickr over the top at a very low opacity (I think 15 or so).
